Born and raised in New Orleans, LA, Fournette attended St. Augustine High School. A four-year starter and one of the most decorated prospects in Louisiana high school football history, Fournette committed to nearby Louisiana State University.

Fournette has shined off the field, as well— in 2015, he earned the SEC Sportsmanship Award for his support for the victims of the South Carolina flooding. His brother, Lanard, is a freshman running back for Louisiana State.

My Roots, My Foundation

A commitment to give back

Off the field, Leonard is motivated to continue setting the standard as a role model for young kids, especially in his seventh ward neighborhood in New Orleans. “My environment made me who I am,″ Fournette says “I didn’t let the outcome of that change me. I’ve always stuck to my roots, my foundation and stayed there.″

Fournette still appears to be shaped by Hurricane Katrina in 2005, which devastated the New Orleans area, when he was 10. ”It made me who I am. It made a lot of guys in Louisiana who they are to this day.″

  • Even before he took his first NFL carry, Fournette already had an establish personal brand name, ‘BUGA NATION.’ it was created by his parents in 2014 and stands for “being united generates attitude.”
